Missing the Point (Part 2)

Apr 18, 2014

Happy Fear Monster Friday!

So George started out last week mopey and wondering what the point of life is, so I sent him on a walk. You can see what happened when he got back!

He found it, the point, for just a moment there. In that little kitty, he found love, kind of... And then he nearly squished him and tried to give him a bath, which the cat didn't like very much.

And then because of ONE bad experiencing bathing a cat, he just automatically assumes that all kitties must be evil.

Is this starting to sound familiar? Have you ever thought you found IT.... and then maybe you held on a little too tight, and POOF it was gone! And then your fear monster assumes that you'll never find what you're looking for? Or never find it again? I think if we're honest, we've all done that a time or two.

If you find yourself doing that, your fear monster is probably thinking the same thing George was in the comic today. That love is something we have to go find. Outside. As if it came from somewhere other than ourselves.

It's no accident that George wants to name his kitty George. He really WANTS to love himself. He's failing at it, but that's what makes him cute.

So, what about you? Where are you looking for meaning in your life? I'd love to hear!

And although officially we're a non-denominational comic strip and fear monster training school, if you celebrate it, I am wishing you a great Good Friday (always seemed like a smartass name to me) and a Happy Easter!  And for the rest of you, have a wonderful love-filled weekend!
